The Advanced Materials Processing and Joining Center (AMP) provides R&D opportunities in state-of-the-art solid-state joining and parts fabrication technologies such as friction stir welding and processing, friction stir spot welding and ultrasonic spot welding, as well as fusion welding, cold spray and more. AMP projects involve the many engineering programs at the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology plus other major academic institutions, industrial partners, and government laboratories.
