IMS is a NSF Multi campus Industry University Cooperative Research Center which consists of the University of Cincinnati lead institution , the University of Michigan, and Missouri Univ. of S&T, and the Univ. of Texas at Austin in partnerships with over 80 global companies including P&G, GE Aviation, GM, Ford, DaimlerChrysler, Toyota, Boeing, Omron, Caterpillar, Honeywell, BorgWarner, Bosch, , Toshiba, Parker Hannifin, Festo, Kistler, TechSolve, National Instruments, Advantech, ITRI, PMC, Siemens, Spirit Aerosystems, Alstom, HIWIN Taiwan , Ingersoll Rand, and others. The Center is focused on developing advanced prognostics and predictive analytics tools to enable products and systems to achieve zero breakdown performance.
